Welcome to The Tron Kirk Moredun Our Church has stood on this site in Craigour Gardens, at the top of Craigour Drive, since 1952. As a congregation we have a much longer history, as we originally worshipped in the Tron building on Edinburgh's High Street, and before that as one of the congregations in St. Giles. Throughout our history we've sought to serve Christ. Our purpose is to build God's Kingdom - to share the good news of Jesus' birth, death and resurrection. We want to help other people come to follow him and to be a mutual encouragement to those who are already following him. We would very much like to welcome you to join us in our fellowship and work. We look forward to welcoming you and doing all that we can to support you. Come along and join us on a Sunday Morning at 10:30 a.m for our worship service. All children are welcome, and there is a Sunday Club at 10:30 a.m. on alternate Sundays (except during the school summer holidays). Stay and join us for tea/coffee and a chat after the service. Please get in touch with us if you would like to know more or would like a visit. A Brief History of the Tron Kirk Moredun
The church building was originally planned to operate as a hall church and consisted of the church/hall (seating capacity 150/220), session house, vestry and two small side rooms. This was extended in 1970 with the addition of a main hall with stage (seating capacity 160), small hall, kitchen and toilets. The kitchen has recently been refitted and upgraded to meet the requirements of the food hygiene regulations. A ramp has been added to the hall entrance, to allow disabled access to halls and church. Plans were drawn for the conversion of a cloakroom to provide disabled toilet facilities, but this work has not yet been undertaken. In September 2002 we celebrated our 50th Anniversary on our current site.
